Yes!

That is my late mother on the cover, and the book is about the glorious bouffant hairstyle that was all the rage in the 60s and 70s.
Bouffant – a beatnik fairytale is a collage-style picture book for teenagers and adults, with vivid images and whimsical text, as well as a surprising and fun collection of back pages that educate us all on the world of the BEATNIK.

The book is a love letter to my mother, and it has many twists and turns and outrageous things that happen, but in the end it is about the understanding between mother and daughter.

This book is also a homage to the beatniks, those rebel children of the arts and letters, in whose blood ran whiskey and wine, daring dreams and potent visions, and they were wild wild wild. Like most of us wished we could be …

This book is considered an LGBTQ book. You will see why …

Join us on this joyous day – October 11 2025 – as we celebrate this fifth book of mine, and the spirit of my unbelievable mother!

I will be sharing with you the behind-the-scenes story of the making of

Bouffant – a beatnik fairytale

and what a rambunctious rollercoaster-ride it has been!

We will be playing the playlist of this book (music from the 60s and 70s) while we toast with champagne, and I sign copies of the book! And I think the store owner will allow us to dance, because laughter and joy is infectious, and he is a super cool guy.

*** Bonus: during the covid era I wrote and published 2 books without a book launch, which I will share with you all as well: Our Young Lady of Paris (the escapade of a lonely teenager through her hometown, Paris, on her 16th birthday. The story includes Archangel Michael and Jim Morrison) I also wrote Hansel and Gretel – a foodie tale, a modern, more loving twist to the Grimm’s fairytale).

The Lost Bookstore is a gorgeous and vast bookstore in North Hollywood. It is elegant and cool and filled to the brim with new and secondhand and limited edition and antique books. Give yourself an hour or so to browse this dream of a place when you come over. You will not be sorry.
